Xavi is back as Barcelona manager after Al-Sadd reached agreement with the Catalan club on Friday, ABZ can report.
According to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano: ‘Xavi to Barcelona, confirmed and here we go! Official statement from Al-Sadd on the agreement completed with Barça. Xavi is back and he’s the new manager. #FCB #Xavi’
Xavi would now replace former Netherlands boss, Ronald Koeman who was sacked at the end of last month following the El Clasico defeat to Real Madrid.
Advising Xavi in his new role, former teammate, Rivaldo said: “Xavi must sign players for Barcelona in January. The team needs two or three new players to reinforce the squad, but Xavi will also need to get the best out of his current players, adapting the style of play to their qualities and bonding nicely with his group.”

The World Cup winner has a rich coaching CV already and only last month, he set a new domestic record in Qatari football by guiding his side to a 34-game unbeaten run in the league, while he won seven trophies as club boss since his appointment in 2019.
Before Messi earned the record, Xavi was the record-appearance holder at Barcelona with 767.
