West Ham United continue with their impressive form against top teams after coming back from a goal down to beat Chelsea at London Stadium.
Chelsea broke the deadlock in the 29th minute after an unmarked Thiago headed home a corner kick from Mason Mount.
The home side leveled matter in the 40th minute, after a poor pass from Jorginho to goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy, who failed to handle the ball, and the Senegalese brought down Jarrod Bowen to concede a penalty. Manuel Lanzini then stepped up to score the spot-kick.
Just before the break, the Blues took the lead again, after Hakim Ziyech sent in a long weighted pass to Mount and the Three Lion star hit the half volley into the back of the net.
After end-to-end football, the home side equalized 10 minutes after the restart, following a lovely left-footed low drive shot from Bowen from the edge of the box.
West Ham United took the lead for the first time in the match, following another poor goalkeeping from Mendy, after a quick throw-in from Arthur Masuaku, and Michail Anthony passed back to him, and Masuaku’s hard cross was deflected into the back of the net.
West Ham secured their top-four spot for this week, while Chelsea failed to extend their lead, and could drop to third if Manchester City and Liverpool win their games later today.
