Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, who saw his team qualify for their first Champions League semifinal since 2018, predicted that their last-four clash against Premier League side, Chelsea will be a “very tough” clash.
Real Madrid defeated 2019 champions, Liverpool 3-1 on aggregate, following a 3-1 win for the Blancos at the Estadio Alfredo di Stefano, and the second leg of the clash ended goalless at Anfield.
Chelsea, on the other hand, progressed to the last four, after defeating Portuguese side, FC Porto 2-1 on aggregate, after the Blues won 2-0 away and lost 1-0 at home, although both games were played at the same venue, the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán in Spain.
Speaking ahead of the clash with the 2012 UEFA Champions League winners, Zinedine Zidane said: “We’ve got a number of LaLiga games to play before we face Chelsea, but it’s going to be a very tough tie.”
The France 1998 World Cup winner then went on to speak on Real Madrid’s tough match over Liverpool, the Blancos boss said: We dug in and I think we deserve to go through. We showed real togetherness and I’m delighted for the boys. It was a really important game.”
