Two players named in the Super Falcons squad to tour the USA this summer have withdrawn due to injury concerns. Patricia George and Halimatu Ayinde picked up injuries in their recent games for their respective club sides ruling them out of the tour.
According to Brila.net, Sweden-based midfielder Ayinde picked up a knee injury while playing for her Eskilstuna FC against Hackens. George,on the other hand, suffered an ankle injury, but her club Sands FC are yet to confirm how long she will be out.
The coach of the Super Falcons, Randy Waldrum is now left with 23 players in his squad ahead of the tournament that will begin on the 10th of June. Nigeria will kick start the tournament against Jamaica at BBVA Stadium in Houston on 10 June, before facing Portugal three days later.
The team will then proceed to face hosts USA at the home of the new Major League Soccer club, Austin FC, on 16 June.
