Asisat Oshoala | The Ikorodu indigene won the UEFA Women’s Champions League with Barcelona Femeni, following their 4-0 thumping of Chelsea Ladies. The 4-time Africa women’s player of the year became the first African to win the title. Her 91st-minute goal was chalked off for offside.
FA Cup Winners | Kelechi “Seniorman Kelz” Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi were both instrumental as Leicester City won their first-ever FA Cup title, after 5 attempts. Iheanacho was subbed off in the second half, while Ndidi played the entire duration of the match.
Unbeaten Scottish Champions | Rangers won their first league title in 10 years in fine form, finishing the season unbeaten. Super Eagles stars, Leon Balogun and Joe Aribo are part of the success of the Steven Gerrard-led team. Both players were praised all through the season by their manager for their impact on the squad.
