Tokyo 2020: Brume wins Nigeria’s first medal at this Olympics

Team Nigeria finally won their first medal at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympic games, after Ese Bruno picked up a bronze medal after an outstanding performance in the women’s long jump final.

Brume jumped a distance of 6.97 – the same distance with second-placed Brittney Reese – but the Nigerian finished third with the countback – their second-best distance.

The 24-year-old has now won Nigeria’s first medal at this year’s competition, and Team Nigeria will hope to win more medals, and better their last two editions of the Olympics.

Nigeria are sure of winning another medal in wrestling, after Blessing Oborududu qualified for the final of the women’s 68kg, and will win either the gold or the bronze medal. So, Team Nigeria have secured two medals, and are hopeful for more medals.
