The Super Eagles of Nigeria will arrive in California USA today ahead of their international friendly match against Mexico slated for Saturday, July 3, 2021.
The fixture will take place at the LA Coliseum with a capacity of around 78,000 in California, United States of America. The last time ‘El Tri’ played at the LA Coliseum was during the 2019 Gold Cup.
The fixture is part of Mexico’s MexTour series, but it comes outside of the FIFA window for international matches.
The match, which kicks off at 7.30pm LA time will be the sixth confrontation between the senior teams of both countries, four of which have ended in draws.
The Super Eagles are yet to win any of their meetings with El Tri and their last defeat came at the 1995 Fifa Confederation Cup in Riyadh. The North Americans won 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw at the end of extra-time.
