Super Eagles midfielder, Frank Onyeka made his debut for new club Brentford during their 2-2 draw against 20-time Premier League champions, Manchester United.
The friendly which was in preparation for the 2021/22 season was played at Old Trafford and the Nigerian, who joined Brentford for £8.5m this summer was a second half substitute, featuring for the final 28 minutes of the encounter.
The Red Devils took an early lead when Anthony Elanga converted a fine cross by Aaron Wan-Bissaka with a beautiful volley in the 12 th minute but the lead lasted just eight minutes as Shandon Baptiste powered home a shot from the edge of the box to end the first half 1-1.
Manchester United began the second half in a higher tempo and deservedly went in front as Brazilian star Andreas Pereira scored the best goal of the night with a well-executed volley which left Brentford goalkeeper David Raya rooted to the spot.
However, the newly promoted Championship side never gave up as substituted Bryan Mbeumo beat his marker Diogo Dalot before curling his left foot shot past Tom Heaton in goal for the Red Devils to end the exciting friendly match 2-2.
Manchester United will play Leeds in their opening premier league fixture while Brentford host Arsenal on August 13th.
