Super Eagles winger, Samuel Kalu has declared himself fit following a long injury layoff.
The 23-year-old, who missed over a month of football due to a recurring thigh injury in the just concluded French Ligue 1 season, scored only four goals in 20 appearances.
Speaking to Teamnigeriauk via a live Instagram interview, Kalu said: “I’m fit. I’m good now. I don’t know what next season holds but let’s see.”
Kalu missed the Super Eagles Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying fixtures against Benin and Lesotho in March due to injury but despite his return from injury, the recent double-header friendly against Cameroon was considered too early for him.
Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr will be delighted with Kalu’s return from injury and hopes he stays fit ahead of preparations for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers where Nigeria is placed in Group C alongside Cape Verde, Liberia, and the Central African Republic.
