Super Eagles duo, Joe Aribo and Leon Balogun will have the opportunity of facing 13-time UEFA Champions League winners, Real Madrid when the Spanish side is hosted by Scottish champions Rangers on July 25.
The prestigious friendly will help the Gers prepare for their 150th anniversary season while the Los Blancos will be aiming to win the La Liga title under new manager Carlo Ancelotti after narrowly losing out to Atletico Madrid last season.
Interestingly, it would be the first game for Ancelotti since his return to Real Madrid for a second stint at the club while it will be the final pre-season fixture for Steven Gerrard’s side before the start of the Scottish season on July 31.
Rangers and Real Madrid met just once in a competitive match and that was during the 1963/64 season, when Los Merengues romped to a 7-0 aggregate win in the European Cup knockouts. But Gerrard will hope the return of fans could inspire his players to a morale boosting result against the Los Blancos this time.
Aribo and Balogun were both involved for 45 minutes in Rangers first preseason fixture of the season when they beat Partick Thistle 1-0 at Firhill on Monday.
