The Nigerian international has been linked with a move to many clubs following Crotone’s, and it appears he’s now set for an exit
Super Eagles star Simy Nwankwo is close to leaving Crotone after reports emerged that he’s set for talks with Salernitana over a potential transfer.
According to transfer market expert Di Marzio, Simy will meet with Salernitana representatives to discuss a possible move.
The Garnets are back in the top-flight for the first time after 23 years and have identified the former Gil Vicente man as one of their transfer targets.
Simy is expected to leave Crotone this summer and has been linked with a host of clubs in Europe after a record-breaking season last campaign.
The 29-year-old scored 20 goals in the Italian Serie A last season, although it was not enough to save The Pythagoreans from relegation.
However, his displays caught the attention of many top-flight clubs. Genoa, Sampdoria and Udinese have all been credited with an interest, but it appears Salernitana are now in pole position to sign him.
