Nigerian player, Shola Shoretire, has won the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year for 2020/21.
The 17-year-old has ten goals and five assists in the Premier League 2 and has featured in the UEFA Europa League and the Premier League for the Manchester United senior team.
“It means a lot to me and I’m sure it means a lot to my family as well,” he told Manutd.com. “Especially with the history of the award and the players who have won it before me. I feel very proud to have won it and very thankful to everyone who has helped me to achieve it.”
It remains to be seen if the left winger will follow the footsteps of Mason Greenwood who has come out of the United youth setup and become an important member of the first team.
With second place in the Premier League secured, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Shoretire will be involved in the final league game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
