Jose Mourinho did not have a happy ending as defending champions Inter Milan beat Roma 3-0 at the Stadio Olimpico.
Inter Milan took an early lead after Hakan Çalhanoğlu scored from a direct corner in the 15th minute. In the 24th minute, the visitors made it 2-0, after Çalhanoğlu then became a provider as he gave a pass to Edin Džeko, who finished into an empty net.
In the 39th minute, the Nerazzurri made it 3-0 after Denzel Dumfries did well to meet a cross from Alessandro Bastoni inside the box and he planted a lovely header into the top left corner. The goal is his first goal in 17 matches for Inter Milan.
Roman failed to close the gap on the top four teams and could drop to 8th on the log, while Inter Milan moved to second on the table, although they can return to third if Napoli win their match against Atalanta.
