Ronaldo’s Portugal and Italy face a tough path to the Qatar World Cup

The draw for the UEFA playoff for the FIFA 2022 World Cup has been set and former European and current champions, Portugal and Italy face a tough path.

The World Cup is always expected to see the best players in the football world, but now, Cristiano Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or with his teammates and/or Italy will miss the Mundial.

The 2016 European champions have been drawn in the same path in the playoff with the Euro 2020 winners, which automatically means, both nations can not qualify for the FIFA World Cup.

Both nations are seeded top, but both countries could face each other in the final if they win their fixtures, where Portugal will take on Turkey, while the current winners will face off with North Macedonia.

Below are the full draws for the UEFA playoffs for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
