Ronaldo wins Coppa Italia title with Juventus

Cristaino Ronaldo was again a title winner as he was part of the Juventus side that lifted the Coppa Italia courtesy of a 2-1 victory over Atalanta in front of 4,300 fans at the Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia.

The Portuguese did not score in what seemed to be his final Cup appearance for the Old Lady’s but it was a second Cup victory for rookie manager Pirlo and a well-deserved one for veteran Gigi Buffon, who is also set to depart the Turin club at the end of this season.

Ruslan Malinovskyi’s rocket gave Atalanta the lead but Dejan Kulusevski scored one and assisted Federico Chiesa for the other goal as the Old Lady came from behind to win the well contested encounter.

Atalanta who recently sealed a UEFA Champions League qualification for next season finished the match with 10-men after Rafael Toloi was shown a straight red card. Juventus held on and emerged winners.

Juventus will now turn attention to the final round of Serie A matches this weekend as they bid to steal a Champions League spot. Pirlo’s men are currently placed fifth with 75 points, one adrift of both AC Milan and Napoli in third and fourth respectively.
