Five-time Ballon D’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo has left a massive hint that he is leaving Juventus this summer with Sporting Lisbon set as a likely destination.
The 36-year-old finished as topscorer for the Serie A and helped the Old Lady secure Champions League qualification, although they lost the title to Inter Milan this term.
The former Manchester United star left Italy immediately after the final game of the season against Bologna to join the Portugal squad preparing for Euro 2020.
Ronaldo wrote on his Instagram wall: “……Nothing compares to the feeling of knowing that I have left my mark in countries where I have played. I gave joy to the fans and clubs I represented. This is what I work for, this is what moves me and this is what I will always keep working for until the last day.
“Thank you to everyone who took part in this journey! We stand together!”
Ronaldo still has 12 months left in his contract worth €31m-a-year with the Bianconeri but he could honour his mother’s wishes and move to hometown club, Sporting Lisbon.
Ronaldo left Lisbon as a kid to join Manchester United, where he enjoyed six successful seasons before moving to Real Madrid to win four more Ballon D’Or and Champions League title and has so far enjoyed a trophy laden career.
