Cristiano Ronaldo has continued to define the odds as he picked up his second award for the 2021/2022 premier league season.
The 36-year-old returned to England following successful seasons at Real Madrid and Juventus but a lot doubted that he could impact the game in the fast paced Premier League, considering his age.
But Ronaldo has proved a lot of doubters wrong with five goals already in all competitions, with three coming in three Premier League matches in September and helped him to another award after winning the Man United player of the month for September.
He beat David de Gea, Mason Greenwood and Jesse Lingard on that occasion but this time, it was even more impressive as he was voted above Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Joao Cancelo (Man City), Antonio Rufiger(Chelsea), Allan Saint-Maximin (Newcastle) and Watford’s Ismaila Sarr.
The votes were from fans on the Premier League website combined with an assessment from a panel of football experts.
Ronaldo is currently away on international duty with Portugal and Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will hope he returns fit for the away clash against Leicester City on October 16.
