Reports: Real Madrid target ex-AC Milan manager as Zidane’s replacement

The Frenchman is expected to depart the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season, and Los Blancos have drawn up a list of potential replacements.

Masimilliano Allegri is the favourite to become new Real Madrid manager next season. The former AC Milan manager is expected to replace Zinedine Zidane, who will leave his role at the end of the season.

Allegri has been without a club since he left Juventus two years ago, but he’s gearing up for a return to management again.

The 53-year-old has always been on the radar of Real Madrid, and was approached three years ago when the job first became available- but turned it down.

However, according to Fabrizio Romano, he has met with Madrid officials again and would accept the offer to become the club’s new head coach from next season.

It’s been a disappointing season for Madrid by their standards. The 13-time European champions La Liga title defence is almost over as they sit two points behind rivals Atletico Madrid with two games to go.

They also lost to Chelsea in the semifinal of the champions league while they suffered an embarrassing exit to Alcoyano in the Copa Del Rey
