Five-time Ballon winner, Cristiano Ronaldo hits a new milestone as Manchester United beat Arsenal 3-2 at Old Trafford.
It was Arsenal who scored the first goal in the 14th minute in a controversial manner, after Manchester United’s goalkeeper, David De Gea was on the ground, but the VAR gave the goal because no Arsenal player fouled the shot-stopper.
Manchester United levelled matters on the brink of halftime after Fred teed up Bruno Fernándes, and the Portuguese coolly finished to the right side of the post.
The home side took the lead for the first time in the 52nd minute, after Marcus found space down the right, gave a low pass to Ronaldo, and the number seven hit the ball into the net to score his 800th career goal.
The lead didn’t last long, as Arsenal equalized less than 2 minutes, as Gabriel Martinelli, who was alone on the right, found Martin Ødegaard, and the former Real Madrid man fired a weak shot past de Gea.
The Red Devils took the lead again in the 70th minute from the penalty, after Ødegaard brought down Fred in the box, and Ronaldo finished to score his second and United’s third goal.
With the win, Manchester United moved up to seventh on the log, and cut their point deficit between them and Arsenal, who sit fifth, to two points.
