The Super Eagles of Nigeria lost their first 2022 World Cup qualifying game, as they fell to a 1-0 home defeat against the Central African Republic at Teslim Balogun Stadium on Thursday evening.
Karl Namnganda scored the only goal of the game in the 89th minute as the Les Fauves claim all three points in Lagos.

Francis Uzoho 6: He had a good game and was not called into action for the most part of the game, made a vital save in the 66th minute but was unable to do anything about the goal scored by the visitors.
Ola Aina 5: The former Chelsea fullback couldn’t put in accurate crosses from the right side but was involved in the Super Eagles attack.
William Troost-Ekong 4: The Watford defender will hope to put this performance in the tie behind him as he was woeful alongside Balogun.
Leon Balogun 4: The Rangers defender was caught out of position a couple of times in the game. He failed to deal with a long ball that allowing Namnganda to slot past Uzoho in the 89th minute
Jamilu Collins 5: He was one of the weakest links in Super Eagles defence and wasn’t fully effective while going forward.
Frank Onyeka 5: The Brentford man tried his best in the midfield but was unable to create chances for the forwards.
Joe Aribo 5: He was quiet in the midfield and it was obvious that he misses the likes of Wilfred Ndidi
Kelechi Iheanacho 4: He couldn’t link well with Osimhen upfront, was subbed off at half-time after picking up an injury.
Moses Simon 4: The former Levante forward provided another woeful performance for the Super Eagles and he wasn’t able to offer a threat for Les Fauves’ defence. He was poor with his delivery of corner kicks.
Chidera Ejuke 6: One of the liveliest players on the pitch today but his efforts to create chances for the strikers were well dealt with by the Central Africans Republic defenders.
Victor Osimhen 6: He was quiet in the opening and also lost the first chance Super Eagles had in the game.
Taiwo Awoniyi 5: The Union Berlin striker brought life into the game when he came on for Iheanacho and was close to scoring his first goal for the Eagles.
