ABZ looks at the Player ratings for Super Eagles players
Maduka Okoye 4: He wasn’t tested much in the game and couldn’t do anything
Jamilu Collins 4: The German-based defender couldn’t offer much in the Super Eagles attack and didn’t have a lot to do defensively.
Williams Troost-Ekong 5: He was solid at the back in the first half as Cameroon pressurise the Super Eagles but his loose ball gave Andre Anguissa to score Cameroon’s first goal. He could’ve equalised in the second half but his shot was saved by Omossola.
Chidozie Awaziem 5: The former Porto centre-back had a wonderful game alongside Ekong as they kept the defence line strong
Shehu Abdullahi 5: Played full 90 minutes and kept the right-back solid all through the game.
Oghenekaro Etebo 7: The Galatasaray midfielder had a good game alongside Ndidi and nearly got the equaliser for the Eagles.
Wilfred Ndidi 8: He was arguably the best player on the pitch for the Eagles and intercepting Cameroon’s attacks in the game.
Alex Iwobi 4: He failed to create enough chances for the strikers in the game and lost control of the ball most times in the game. He was substituted in the 87th minute for debutant Marcus Abraham.
Moses Simon 7: The Nantes forward was a threat on the left flanks and was close to giving Super Eagles the lead in the 34th minute after his long-range effort was saved by Omossola. He missed a golden opportunity in the 58th minute.
Kelechi Iheanacho 4: The Leicester City forward had one of his worst performance in the Eagles shirt as he hardly got a chance to prove himself in the game as his runs and movement was shut down by Cameroon defenders.
Paul Onuachu 5: He didn’t get many clear cut chances but was instrumental in winning air duels.
