Player Ratings: Kante Delivers Yet Again As Chelsea Clinched UCL Title Against City

Chelsea defeated Manchester City 1-0 as they lifted the Champions League trophy at Dragao on Saturday evening.

Kai Havertz’s lone strike in the first 45 minutes gave Chelsea the deserved win over the Cityzens.

One of the stand-out performer in the game was N’golo Kante, who was at the centre of Chelsea defensive display against Pep Guardiola’s side.


Edouard Mendy 6/10: The Senegalese goalie didn’t have much to do as the Chelsea defence was up to the task of preventing City attackers from getting a clear cut chance.

Thiago Silva 4/10: He was unable to finish the game after being subbed off due to injury in the first half.

Antonio Rudiger 8/10: He was solid in Chelsea defence alongside Azpilicueta.

Cesar Azpilicueta 8.5/10: Apart from being solid in defence, the Spaniard showed a lot of leadership qualities as Chelsea defence was coordinated all through the game.

Reece James 8.5/10: The youngster kept Raheem Sterling out of the game and was solid in the right wing back position.

Ben Chilwell 6/10: He was one of the weak link in Chelsea defence and was lucky his mistake in the first half didn’t lead to a goal. 

Jorginho 6/10: He had a good game alongside Kante in the midfield.

N’golo Kante 9/10: The Frenchman continued his top-class performance for the Blues as his presence in the midfield gave the Cityzens a lot of problems in creating clear cut chances.

Mason Mount 7/10: He was instrumental for Chelsea only goal in the game as he got the assist.

Kai Havertz 8/10: Kept his cool after receiving a good pass from Mount to score Chelsea’s only goal of the game.

Timo Werner 4/10: The German international had yet another poor performance in the Blues shirt as he missed two glorious chances in the game before being substituted.


Andreas Christensen 7/10: He replaced injured Thiago Silva in the first half and was one of Chelsea’s best defenders in the game.
