Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen will miss Napoli’s Serie A clash against Juventus after the international break following his red card in the opening game against Venezia.
Osimhen was sent off 23 minutes into Napoli’s opening match of the new campaign on Sunday night. The 22-year-old received his marching orders for his tussle with Venezia’s Daan Heymans.
As a result, Osimhen has been suspended for two games, although Napoli plan to appeal the suspension. However, the Super Eagles striker will miss the clash against Genoa on Sunday and the match against Juventus next month should Napoli fail in their appeal.
If Osimhen misses the encounter against Juventus, it means the 22-year-old will not get the chance to face the Old Lady this season as he won’t be available for the second leg in January due to the Super Eagles participation in next year’s Africa Cup of Nations.
