Victor Osimhen is arguably one of the best strikers in the Italian Serie A this season and Napoli teammate, Kalidou Koulibaly has revealed that new manager Luciano Spalletti pushes the Nigerian to improve.
The 22-year-old was hampered by injuries, suspensions and Covid-19 last season following his big money move from Ligue 1 side, Lille. But the Super Eagles forward has started the 2021/22 season on fire, scoring 9 goals in 13 appearances in all competitions for the club so far.
Kouliably claims that the team were surprised at Osimhen’s form this season considering how last campaign went for the Nigerian.
“Osimhen’s first season was difficult, nobody expected him to reach this level, but he still has room for improvement,” Kouliably told DAZN.
“He is a humble guy who loves joking with his teammates. Spalletti has pushed him to improve. He’s helped him, giving him strength and self-esteem.”
Napoli are top favourites for the Serie A title this season and they currently sit top of the log with 32 points from 12 matches played so far.
