Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen is ready to continue his new found goalscoring form as Napoli prepare to face in-form AC Milan at the Sansiro tonight but he would have to do so from the bench.
The 22-year-old who has been through the mill this season, between a dislocated shoulder, COVID and being knocked unconscious against Atalanta towards the end of last month, returned with a brilliant goal as the Azzurri defeated Bologna 3-1 last weekend.
It would’ve been Osimhen’s his first start for Napoli this year against Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s AC Milan. The Nigerian has registered just three Serie A goals since his big money switch from Lille in France and would want to repay the faith of Napoli manager Gennaro Gattuso.
Interestingly, Napoli has the upper hand in head-to-head fixtures between both sides. From 30 matches played, Napoli has won 10 matches, AC Milan eight while the remaining 12 ended in a draw.
AC Milan are currently fighting for the Serie A title and sit second on the log with 56points while Napoli sit sixth with 47points.
