African Queen, Asisat Oshoala was on target but her goal was not enough to help Barcelona Femini as they lost 4-3 to Rasheedat Ajibade’s Atletico Madrid Feminino to end the Catalan’s winning streak.
Amanda Sampedro gave the home side the lead after 12 minutes from a Deyna Castellanos assist. Seven minutes later, the visitors levelled matters from a Bruna Vilamala. In the 36th minute, Oshoala put Barcelona ahead with a lovely finish. Emelyne Laurent scored two goals in the 56th and 68th minute to give the home side the lead. Marta Torrejon scored a rebound for a Barcelona equaliser in the 74th minute. Six minutes after that, Deyna Castellanos scored the winner for Atletico Madrid.
Rashidat Ajibade started the game, but could not get on the score sheet and she was subbed off in the second half, while Asisat Oshoala’s goal was her 16th in 22 matches for the treble champions in all competitions.
Barcelona have already won the Primera División de la Liga de Fútbol Femenino with games in hand, but their 28-game winning streak ended. Atletico Madrid, on the other hand, moved up from sixth to fifth on the log.
