Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala delivered a brilliant performance to help Barcelona Femeni to a 4-1 win over Arsenal Women in their UEFA Women’s Champions League encounter.
Oshoala had a hand in three of Barcelona’s goal as they began their title defence with a comfortable victory over the WSL side.
Barcelona took the lead in the 31st minute when Mariona Caldentey scored from a Oshoala’s rebound. Alexia Putellas doubled the Spanish side’s advantage in the 42nd minute, finishing off a square pass from Oshoala.
The former Liverpool star then got on the act two minutes after the break as she made it three with a composed finish following a brilliant through ball from Mariona.
It was Oshoala’s eighth goal in all competitions for Barcelona this season, with seven coming in the Spanish top-flight.
Frida Maanum pulled one back for Arsenal in the 74th minute but Lieke Martins strike six minutes from time sealed a comprehensive win for the Spanish champions.
