Super Eagles striker, Paul Onuachu went home with two of the most important awards in the Belgian Pro League at their gala hosted at the JAM hotel in Brussels on Monday.
Onuachu took home the award as the best player in the league for the 2020/2021 season, following a superb performance for his club side, Genk.
The 26-year-old striker beat Club Brugge duo of Noa Lang and Beerschot’s forward Raphael Holzhauser to the gong.
On the same night, the Super Eagles striker also won the award for the highest goal scorer – expected – as he outscored everyone in the division, scoring 33 goals in the regular season and playoffs.
In addition to the great season, he also helped Genk win the Belgian Cup following a 2-1 win against Standard Liege where he provided the assist for his side’s second goal.
Genk reacted to the awards, calling Onuachu a club legend, saying: “Congratulations Paul! AS a club, we are of course very proud of this election of Paul. He is already a legend of KRC Genk.”
