Onuachu on target as Super Eagles return to Lagos with a bang

Paul Onuachu makes it 2 in 2 games as he scored for Nigeria as the Super Eagles thrashed Lesotho 3-0 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

Victor Osimhen thought he had given the Super Eagles the lead early on from a lovely Kelechi Iheanacho pass, but the goal was chalked off for offside. The two players then combined to score in the 23rd minute as Osimhen scored from a beautiful Iheanacho pass. The Napoli striker then turned provider as he gave a pass to Oghenekaro Etebo to score the second goal in the 50th minute. Genk striker, Paul Onuachu then scored the 3rd goal in the 83rd minute, with a powerful shot, moments after coming on as a substitute.

Nigeria already qualified as group winners, following their 1-0 victory over the Squirrels of Benin Republic in Porto Novo, but a win in the first competitive game in Lagos was a welcome celebration for fans in the City. Lesotho, on the other hand, already had no hope of making the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, and only played for pride, but Nigeria still thumped them.
