Stephen Odey’s blistering start to the 2021/22 season in Denmark has been rewarded as he was voted the Player of the Month for October.
The 23-year-old, who is currently on loan at the Danish side Randers from Belgium side Genk has scored five goals in eight league matches with three coming in October against top side Midtjylland, OB Odense and Brøndby.
‘I’m very excited to win the Player of the Month Award in Denmark. I want to thank my teammates who have helped me since arriving in Denmark,’ Odey said after beating Midtjylland’s Evander Ferriera and Silkeborg’s Sebastian Jorgsten to the award.
Odey is currently in red-hot form and in addition to his three league goals in October, the former Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) forward scored twice in the Europa Conference League and a goal in the Danish Cup.
Randers are currently fourth in the Danish league table with 25 points after 15 matches played so far. And if Odey continues with his good form he might earn a recall to the Super Eagles just like Odion Ighalo, who recently came out of international retirement.
