The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Match-Day 17 proved to be an intriguing one as it witnessed two away wins and a first hat-trick of the season courtesy Kwara United’s Stephen Jude, AllBallerZone reports.
The Afonja Warriors are currently enjoying a brilliant form and it was no surprise that they hammered Adamawa United 5-0 – the biggest win margin in the NPFL so far this term.
Michael Ohanu opened scoring for the host after latching onto a Stephen Jude pass. Jude made it 2-0 to end the first half in a comfortable position. Jude grabbed his second goal in the 60th minute – Ohanu followed up with his second goal to make it 4-0 before Jude completed his hat-trick to make it 5-0 as Kwara United maintain top spot.

In Bauchi, two first half goals from Nyima Nwagua and Ebuka David was enough for Kano Pillars pick a 2-1 away victory over Wikki Tourist. Stephen Chukwude got the goal for the home side.
MFM disappointed Lagos fans for the second time at home this season as they lost 2-1 to visiting Akwa United. The Uyo based team hit Lagos by air and escaped fatigue as they were fresh enough to beat the Lagos team courtesy goals by Mfon Udoh and Ikechukwu Nwani. Clement Ogwu scored for MFM.
In Makurdi, Lobi Stars hammered Rivers United 4-1 in a scintillating fixture. In other venues Warri Wolves held Heartland to a 1-1 draw while Abia Warriors dismantled Katsina United 3-1.
