The first round of games at the ongoing National Volleyball Division 1 League was completed successfully in Kaduna and most of the teams from the Northern region of the country secured victories in their games.
Kada Kings, who beat Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) 2-1 to emerge champions of the 2021 President Beach Volleyball Cup earlier this month beat Spikers of Yola 3-0 (25:17, 25:12 and 25:14) in their Division 1 game.
Similarly, Kwara United, Bauchi Spikers and Katsina United also recorded wins in matchday1 of the ongoing National Volleyball Division 1 League in Kaduna.
Kwara United overpowered Caliphate Spikers of Sokoto 3-0 (25-13, 25-23, 25-21) while Katsina United came from behind to beat Oyo State 3-1 (19-25, 25-18, 25-18 and 25-20) in four sets.
Bauchi Spikers also continued the trend of domination by beating Equity of Kebbi 3- 0 in an entertaining encounter.
Chairman, caretaker committee of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engr. Musa Nimrod, was also present at the court and he expressed satisfaction with the performance of the players.
He also provided assurance that the league would get better as he appealed to members of the public for sponsorship of volleyball in the country
