Nigeria vs Tunisia: Carthage Eagles will fall – Finidi

Ahead of the crunch round of 16 match against the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia, Enyimba Coach, Finidi George is confident that Nigeria will win today.

The three-time African Champions finished top in Group D following a perfect run where they defeated Egypt, Sudan and Guinea-Bissau, scoring six goals and conceding just once from the penalty spot.

Tunisia barely made it out of Group F as they finished third behind debutants Gambia and Mali. Thankfully, the 33rd edition of AFCON is an expanded 24-team format, which allows for four best losers to move into the round of 16.

Finidi said: “It’s going to be a good match-up but at the end of the day Nigeria is going to win it. The Super Eagles are playing with confidence, good spirit and I think Eguavoen is doing a good job. We must commend them for winning three games, now we’ve gotten to the knockout stages and the boys will bring their A game and make sure they qualify for the next stage. I’m not worried at all because the boys will come through against Tunisia.”

Nigeria will be gunning for her fourth Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title after winning the last one in 2013.
