Ndidi could miss rest of the season – Rodgers

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi could miss the rest of the season due to a knee injury, according to Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers.

The Nigerian midfielder, who helped the Foxes into the Europa Conference League quarter-final got injured during the second leg of their round of 16 encounter against Rennes last week, Thursday.

Although Ndidi is scheduled to see a specialist to determine the severity of the injury, Rodgers is not overly optimistic about the 25-year-old’s chances of playing again for the former premier league champions this season.

“Wilf is not so good. He is getting a second opinion on that. Whether he will play for the rest of the season or not, we are not quite sure, which is a real shame for us,” Rodgers said.

The Eagles midfielder who missed the 2-1 win over Brentford at the weekend, will also miss the crucial 2022 World Cup play-off matches against Ghana.

Ndidi has two goals and one assist in 30 appearances for Leicester City this season.
