Moses happy with win over Osimhen’s Napoli

Former Super Eagles winger, Victor Moses has expressed delight after helping Russian side, Spartak Moscow secure a shock 3-2 victory over Victor Osimhen’s Napoli in the Match-Day 2 of the Europa League.

The match which was played at the Diego Maradona stadium saw Moses involved for 90 minutes while Osimhen played the last 45 minutes after coming from the bench for 10-man Azzurri.

Eljif Elmas put Napoli in front in the first minute of the game. Napoli failed to extend their lead as Matteo Politano and Andrea Petagna were wasteful in front of goal.

The game turned on its head when Napoli defender Mario Rui saw a straight red card for a bad foul on his opponent. The away side capitalized on the one man advantage to equalise through Quincy Promes after fine work by Moses from the right wing.

Substitute Mikhail Ignatov made it 2-1 before Promes completed his brace to make it 3-1. Osimhen ensured for a high pressured end to the game with his third goal in the Europa League but the visitors held on to win 3-2.

‘Fantastic win tonight against a top side!’ Moses tweeted after the surprise win in Naples.

Despite netting his seventh goal in all competition, an obviously disappointed Osimhen said: ‘We Stand Firm as a Team No Matter the Outcome. We’ll Be Back.’

Courtesy of their first win in the Europa League, Spartak move into second on the Group C log with three points behind leaders Legia Warszawa while Napoli sit third with just a point while Leicester City are bottom.
