Manchester United head into the match against Villarreal on Wednesday with a massive doubt on the fitness of club captain, Harry Maguire, ABZ can confirm.
The former Leicester defender was part of the 26-man squad that traveled to the venue of the Europa League final but during the final training session this evening at the Stadion Energa Gdańsk, he didn’t join, instead he sat in the dugout and watched.
At the press conference earlier today, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had refused to rule him out of the final insisting that the Red Devils would give him every opportunity of playing the game against the Yellow Submarines on Wednesday night.
Manchester United are gunning for their second Europa League win while Villarreal are looking for thier first and Unai Emery is successful in the competition, having led Sevilla to three consecutive Europa League titles in the past.
Maguire will be a huge miss for Manchester United if he eventually misses out as they have struggled without his presence at the back. The England international got injured during the 3-1 victory over Aston Villa in the Premier League.
