Chelsea young star, Mason Mount has been named the club’s Player of the Year for the 2020-2021 season, crowning a brilliant season for both the Blues and the Three Lions.

Mount became a vital player in the Chelsea set up under former manager and club legend, Frank Lampard, and when new boss Tuchel took over, many thought the Englishman would struggle, but he kept his place either in the attack or in the midfield.

The 22-year-old has had 51 appearances for Chelsea this season – 34 in the Premier League – and he has scored a total of 9 goals and provided 8 assists in all competitions for the Blues.

Mount becomes the first Chelsea Academy graduate to win the club’s Player of the Year award since John Terry in 2006. And he’s the youngest to win it since also John Terry, back in 2001.

The London club will take on Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi’d Leicester City on later tonight in a must-win match for the Blues, as they seek revenge for the FA Cup loss to the Foxes, and also a spot in the UEFA Champions League for next season, and they will hope their Player of the Year turns up.
