The Foxes missed out on Champions League football on the final day for the second consecutive season after another home loss
Super Eagles star Kelechi Iheanacho has expressed his disappointment over Leicester City’s failure to qualify for the Champions League.
It was a case of deja vu for Brendan Rodgers men after they lost at home to Tottenham Hotspur to miss out on the top four on last day for the second consecutive.
Leicester were favourites to finish in the top four at the turn of the year, but poor results in the business end of the season allowed Chelsea and Liverpool to capitalise.
However, they were still in with a chance going into the final round of games. The Foxes needed to win and hope either Chelsea or Liverpool drop points.
Chelsea lost, but Rodgers side could not capitalise as they were beaten 4-2 by Spurs. Iheanacho was one of the team’s best players, and he revealed his disappointment of missing out on top four in a tweet.
However, he praised the team for winning the club’s FA Cup, while he also promised a strong comeback next season.
