Kelechi Iheanacho has expressed his delight following his stunning strike which helped Leicester City secure a 2-0 win over Millwall in the Carabao Cup.
Iheanacho had played a part in Ademola Lookman’s opener before his fantastic strike which helped the Foxes secure their place in the fourth round.
The former Manchester City man beat a Millwall defender by cutting into his right before firing an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.
Following the game, Iheanacho revealed it was a brilliant goal from him, while he also praised his teammates for getting the win.
“It was a sweet goal, a rocket, and we’re happy with that,” he said on his stunning late strike,”Iheanacho told LCFC TV via Leicester City’s official website.
“It was team work and we’re happy going into the next round. We put the work in today. We defended really good in the last 10 minutes and we got the first goal early in the second half.”
The 24-year-old will hope to continue in the same vein when Leicester take on Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday.
