Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho missed a penalty as Leicester City lost their first preseason match against English League One side, Burton Albion at Pirelli Stadium while Wilfred Ndidi featured for 45minutes.
The Foxes played two different XI’s in the encounter as debuts were handed to new signings Ryan Bertrand, Boubakary Soumaré and Patson Daka while the Nigerian duo of Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi played the second 45 minutes.
Despite, Iheanacho playing in attack with Leicester’s all-time leading goalscorer in the premier league, Jamie Vardy the Foxes failed to break down Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s men to end the Bass Charity Vase goalless after 90 minutes.
The match went into penalties and Leicester City missed three spot kicks out of four, including Iheanacho as Burton Albion won 3-1 to the delight of few fans allowed in the stadium to witness the encounter.
Leicester continue their pre-season campaign on Wednesday with a trip to Adams Park to face Wycombe Wanderers before taking on Queens Park Rangers at Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium on Saturday.
