Kelechi Iheanacho marked his first start of the season with his first goal in the Premier League as he helped Leicester City to a 2-2 draw over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday evening.
The Nigerian turned 25 same day and it was a befitting birthday present. Making him the third Nigerian in the history of the Premier League to score on his birthday, following in the footsteps of Austin Jay Jay Okocha in 2004 while playing for Bolton and Obafemi Martins in 2008 in the colors of Newcastle United.
The Foxes were desperate to return to winning ways after defeat to Brighton and draw against Burnley. Iheanacho opened scoring for the former Premier League champions at Selhurst Park and strike partner, Jamie Vardy made it 2-0 just before half time.
The home side fought back in the second half as Super Eagles prospect, Michael Olise reduced the deficit with a brilliant goal. And the comeback was completed when substitute Jeffrey Schlupp headed home from close range to make it 2-2 and deny his former club victory against the Eagles.
