The two teams meet tonight in the first leg of their champions league quarterfinal clash at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium
Chelsea and Porto have both received a massive boost ahead of their encounter in the quarterfinal of Europe’s biggest club competition.
Blues head coach Thomas Tuchel confirmed that both Christian Pulisic and Ngolo Kante would be available for the encounter while Malang Sarr has been cleared to face his parent club.
Pulisic and Kante were doubts for the clash, with the latter picking up a hamstring injury in the embarrassing loss to West Brom last weekend.
Kante missed the game against the Baggies after suffering an injury on international duty. But Tuchel has revealed that both are part of the travelling party, although the France international will start from the bench.
“They are fit enough to be in the squad,” Tuchel told the media in his pre-match press conference. N’Golo will be on the bench.”
Meanwhile, Porto will be able to count on the services of Malang Sarr despite initial reports that he won’t feature against his parent club.
Sarr joined Chelsea from Nice last summer, but was immediately loaned out to Porto. Allballerzone had initially reported that he would not feature in tonight’s clash due to a clause in his deal.
But the former Nice star has now been cleared to play against his parent owners and he’s part of the Dragons squad that travelled to Seville.
Both the first and second legs of the encounter will take place at the home of Sevilla due to the quanrantine rules set by the UK and Portuguese governments.
