How Leicester won first ever Emirates FA Cup

Fans and everyone associated with Leicester City will never forget 15 May, 2021 when they finally won the FA Cup final by beating Chelsea 1-0 at Wembley.

The Foxes last reached the final in 1969 and Brendan Rodgers has since raised a formidable team with Nigerian duo Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho a big part of the remarkable story.

Two very special guests walked the Emirates FA Cup trophy out ahead of the Final today. Chelsea’s Mark Blythe and Leicester City’s Adam Martin.

Chelsea entered the FA Cup final as favourites after defeating Manchester City in the semifinals and the Blues were looking for their ninth title while the Foxes plotted a first win.

The game was tight as expected and after a goalless first half former Paris Saint German midfielder Youri Tielemans rifled a shot to the top right corner of Chelsea’s goal for the match winner. He became the third Belgian to score in the FA Cup final after Eden Hazard and Kevin de Bruyne.

The goal sent Leicester City fans into wide frenzy but they endured some nervy moments towards the end but had Kasper schmeichel to than as the Danish number one pulled off some stunning saves to deny Chilwell and Mason Mount from scoring.
