Captain fantastic, Jordan Henderson’s brilliant striker helps Liverpool pick up all three points in the Champions League opener against seven-time winners, AC Milan at Anfield.
It was Liverpool who scored the opening goal in the 9th minute after Fikayo Tomor deflected home Trent Alexander-Arnold’s shot into his own goal. Five minutes later, the Reds won a penalty, after Ismael Bennacer blocked Andrew Robertson’s shot with his arm, but Mohamed Salah missed the spot-kick.
In the 42nd minute, Ante Rebic levelled matters for the away side with a low shot from a Rafael Leao assist, and two minutes later, on-loan Real Madrid forward, Brahim Diaz gave AC Milan a 2-1 lead from a close-range tap-in with an assist from former Los Blancos left-back Theo Hernandez.
Liverpool started the second half on a high with Salah scoring an equalizer just three minutes after the restart, after a one-two with Divock Origi. Captain fantastic, Jordan Henderson scored a stunning goal to give the host a 3-2 lead lashing home a half volley from the edge of the box.
Liverpool are now top of the group, after Atletico Madrid and Porto played out a goalless draw, while AC Milan are last on the log.
