Chelsea midfielder Kai Havertz has reacted to his side’s 1-0 win over Manchester City in the final of the UEFA Champions League.
The German scored the only goal of the game in the 42nd minute to give the Blues their second Champions League trophy in their history.
Speaking to BT Sport (via BBC) after the game, he said: “I don’t know what to say. I really don’t know what to say. I waited a long time. Now I want to thank my family, my parents, my grandmother and my girlfriend. I don’t know what to say.
“I’ve waited 15 years for this moment and now it’s here.”
The last time the Blues won the trophy was in 2012.
This win for Chelsea destroys Man City’s hopes of finishing this season with three trophies. Pep Guardiola’s men are the champions of the Premier League and the League Cup.
