Funke Lagoke failed to make it through to the round of 24 at the American idols despite making full recovery after the fainting incident that saw her rushed to the hospital.
The Nigerian returned to the stage stronger in the new episodes of the show aired on Monday night and her performance impressed Judges Katy Perry and Lionel Richie but Luke Bryan had reservations about her singing.
Interestingly, Funke’s partner in the Duet Week, Ronda Felton, also performed on the same day and showed tremendous progress from the girl that was suffering from self-confidence to one that blossomed on stage.
Luke and Katy were in-charge of handing out results to the artists and Funke was praised for her bravery as she showed off her three stitches after her heavy fall last week.
“We are sorry, your journey ends here,” the judges told Funke and later announced to Felton that she didn’t make it to the round of 24. Both took the result in good faith as they exited the competition.
