Former Super Eagles forward, Odion Ighalo has been named the Player of the Month for April and May in the Saudi Pro League (SPL).
The 31-year-old finished the season with nine league goals in 13 appearances as Al Shabab narrowly missed out on the title to Al Hilal by just four points.
“Al Shabab Saudi FC player, Ighalo receives the award for the best player in the months of April and May,” the SPL tweeted. In the months under review, the Nigerian scored six goals in four matches to pick the award.
Ighalo made his World Cup debut for Nigeria in 2018 and after helping Nigeria to qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, he went on to help the Super Eagles finish third in Egypt before announcing his retirement from international football.
