Former coach in the Nigeria Professional Football League, John Obuh, had been appointed as the Technical Director of AS Roma academy in Abuja.
The appointment of the former Golden Eaglet and Flying Eagles boss was announced by the academy’s country manager, Robinson Adakosa.
Speaking on the appointment of the 61-year-old gaffer, Adakosa said: “It was easy for us to pick Mr Obuh among numerous other people considered for the job because we believe he possesses quality to drive the vision of our academy.
“The kids and other staff will have a lot to learn from him because we believe that he has seen it all as far as football is concerned, not only in Nigeria but globally.
“We believe that this new step is a bold statement to making sure that AS Roma Academy Abuja, becomes a source of talented youngsters for the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria and the Flying Eagles.”
The Ohafia born manager has over 20 years of experience, and he has manager NPFL teams like Niger Tornadoes, Kwara United, Enugu Rangers, Kwara United, Akwa United F.C, and Sharks F.C, where he won the 2010 WAFU Club Championship.
Obuh also coached Nigeria’s under 17 (the Golden Eaglets) and the under 20 (the Flying Eagles). He finished in second place in 2009 under 17 World Cup, hosted by Nigeria.
