Cyriel Dessers enhanced his reputation as one of the best finishers in Europe this season with a brace as Feyenoord defeated Marseille 3-2 in the first league semifinal of the UEFA Conference League on Thursday night.
The Super Eagles striker opened scoring on 18 minutes after he collected a pass from Luis Sinisterra and finished brilliantly. Sinisterra added a second two minutes later to make it 2-0.
However, the away side setup a pulsating encounter as they levelled scores with goals from Ahmadou Bamba Dieng and Gerson to end the first half 2-2. The second half was cagey unlike the first half but Dessers proved to be the major difference as he netted the winner to hand Feyenoord a 3-2 win and a first leg advantage.

Feyenoord will hope to complete the job in France next week Thursday when they play the second leg for a chance to reach the finals of the competition.
