Supporters of Manchester United have taken to social media calling for the club to make changes such as replacing manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær following the loss on penalties to Villarreal in the Europa League final on Wednesday.
The Red Devils went into the game as favourites to win and wasted chance after chance to do just that, settling instead for a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes in Gdansk, Poland, before losing a dramatic shootout 10-11 to the Yellow Submarines.
Wantaway goalkeeper David De Gea was the unfortunate player whose spot-kick was saved after every other player from both sides had scored their attempts – including the Villarreal goalkeeper who dove low to his left to push away De Gea’s effort.
And while some fans believe this could be De Gea’s last appearance for United and can’t wait to see him gone, it was manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær that got most of the stick…
Do you believe Solskjær is to blame for United losing the Europa League final or should the club stick with him rather than go for one of the big names such as Zinedine Zidane, Max Allegri or Antonio Conte available for hire?
